Who Doesnt Like a Little Bacon?

Hello Friends!

I hope everyone has had a great week. This week has been…different for me.  I’m not sure how to explain it yet, but you know I will when I figure it out.

Back to the real reason for this post!

Bacon!!!

I grew up waking up to the smell of bacon cooking in the morning. When I was with my mom, it was usually Saturday mornings. My mother was not a morning person, a trait that was passed down to me. I would wake up, stumble my way into her room, and crawl into bed with her. We would sleep for a little while longer or until my little brother woke up, usually the latter happened first. She would get up, make her way into the kitchen and start frying bacon in a cast iron skillet. Just hearing her pulling the pan out was enough to get me out of bed and into the kitchen to help her. After bacon was on a bed of paper towels on a plate, it was time to fry eggs and make toast! The smell of frying bacon is near and dear to my heart.

As much as I love the smell of bacon frying in a pan, I do not like cooking it myself. When I saw this video as an ad (while searching for the original video I was going to post until bacon changed my mind…as it often does…) I knew I had to post it! I know its not original, innovative, or even something new, its so easy even my dad could do it!

So without further adieu…. I give you Bacon!

Now I do it a little differently. I just use aluminum foil to line the baking sheet. I haven’t used another sheet of foil and baking sheet to cover it, nor a rack to put it on. You better believe I will be trying it this way sometime this week though! I’m absolutely positive my husband would not mind the smell of bacon wafting through the apartment. 🙂

  1. I do this. It works great. I love that the bacon stays flat/doesn’t twist and clean-up is easy. Sometimes, I fold the bacon onto hearts before baking them (ala Pinterest.)

  2. LOL I figured you didnt bake bacon onto hearts. haha. I forgot to put a timer on when I tried this and accidentally ended up burning the bacon. My husband didnt mind though, and it made for some wonderful crunch on our burgers that night. 🙂
