This morning my dog decided it was time to go out at 7:45am. For this night owl, that’s early! I can usually just go back upstairs and crawl back in bed once we’re back inside from her doing her business, but this morning I had no such luck. As I sat downstairs in my husbands favorite chair, I began thinking about all the little projects and things we needed to get done before havingfriends and family over for his birthday later this week. There is a lengthy list of procrastination sitting on my fridge right now. Several DIY projects I just haven’t finished, (or haven’t even started…) numerous clean out and organization projects I have put off for far too long, and a few small furniture pieces I’ve been meaning to get to help make our first apartment a home.
As I sat there, drinking my coffee from my marvelous Wonder Woman cup, thinking about all the things I haven’t done, I forgot about all the things I have done! I am a crafter, and recently there have been an influx of baby announcements. I have been crocheting like crazy! Baby blankets, booties, hats, mittens, headbands, and various other super cute items! As I began thinking about all the lovely things I can make, I thought about how much I put into each item I make. The colors, pattern I use, the size of hook I use. It takes a plethora or small decisions to make these small baby items. That train of thought led me the verse
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.” ~Psalm 139:14
There is so much thought that goes into each and every creation. So many tiny decisions, so many individual needs. Its not just into making a baby, but who that baby grows up into being! Every choice means something for the finished project. As a prospective parent (in the not so near future), that thought is daunting, and terrifying! I have to remember that God is bigger than those choices. God sees every angle inside and outside the box. Where I fail, He finds opportunity to reach in and do something amazing.
Gods design is epic!
I am epic!
You are epic!
This thought is where the name “Epic by Design” comes from, that each small choice (even if it seems like a bad decision or a failed attempt) is part of the bigger picture, and the bigger picture never fails because God can see it and He never fails.
Remember, you are epic!
Have a great day friends.
